Playpen For Baby Review

Replacement option for a baby crib? Here is what I think of this playpen.

Replacement option for a baby crib? Here is what I think of this playpen.

This playpen is 50 in length x50 in width x27 in height and is good for babies or toddlers that have started to crawl or are at least 4-6 months old. My kid started to crawl when she was 4 months plus, she started to sleep on one side and rotate her body 360 degrees since her baby crib is way too small. We have decided to buy one that’s small enough to fit in our bedroom. First, they’re not allowed to sleep by themselves yet so sleeping next to us is a must. In theory, it is recommended to have their bed or crib set up in the same room as their parents for easy eye tracking.

The installation is easy but the instruction manual lacks details step by step. By opening the box, the item came in the package came undamaged, packed well, and came with a carry-on storage bag. A playmat came with the playpen since it’s a bonus to me in purchasing the mat separately. The playmat is nice in that you can flip it over to change the theme to let the baby see around the areas. The frame is made from light steel pipe and does not attempt to sit on the frame to test its strength. The connection corners and t-brackets are made of plastic and easy to break, four corners are sturdy with an anti-slip pad. It is just 27 inches in height, which my husband can climb over, but I must crawl under the door area due to my height restrictions. I wish they made one with a door entry but hey for the price I can’t really complain. My advice to parents’ is doesn’t try to move the playpen too much since it can break, the connectors are weak as it’s easy to fall apart, and not designed for moveable even with an anti-slip corner base.

I must add a blanket as an extra layer under the playmat since there’s no padding underneath which is rough and may hurt your child’s back since it’s too firm. Plus, I must cover one of the wall areas with a throw blanket to give the child some privacy, noise reduction, and light reduction. Ensure you tighten the blanket or cover sheet to reduce the chance of your baby moving or choking with the blanket. The mesh is very fragile and easy to tear apart, so be careful not to touch them too much. In addition, do not try to put too much stuff in the playpen area otherwise it will interfere with the baby’s needs.

After a month of using this playpen, I can’t really complain but give it a 6/10 for it. Size matters make sure you get the right size, door entry is another option to think about it, and how long can this product last? My baby takes a nap and sleeps in it during the day and at night. She didn’t complain since we moved away from the baby crib. We also have a separate playpen for her to play in and lay in, which is in the living room. The final verdict, this is a good playpen for toddlers that still crawl and is not recommended for toddlers that can stand on their feet by themselves since the mesh is not safe as advertised and is easy to break.
